  2. Negative contact with Ristar or Tringad The show continues [rp] 2115, March 15, 3008 Debris Field LV-103, Alpha Cygni The GCV Shogun entered the expanding debris field in LV-103. The message received over the Dragon channel changed both the ShogunÔÇÖs and Fleet Commander RistarÔÇÖs mission in LV-103 significantly. Relegated from an up-front position to a painstakingly minor, wait-and-see position. A position that the head of the Dragon Council did not relish in maintaining, but was the most practical given the tactical situation transmitted by the Commander of the Graf Spee. The message was simple, terse, and somewhat disrespectful, in the style of its originator, Commander Gallion. Ristar had thought things were bad when he left Lydan, they were even worse in LV-103. The Gammulan Empire had effectively eliminated the Falkyrie resistance movement on the planet and all formerly Falkyrie worlds. Basically, RistarÔÇÖs mission was and is all for naught. Dependent on what Commander TringadÔÇÖs mission results are, there was no need for the GCV Shogun to remain so exposed in the Gammulan Quadrant. The continued presence of the GCV Shogun so near an operation risked the operation itself. Ristar would have set a best course back to Sol or to the battle between Wraith Fleet and the Gammulan Empire, if it had not been for one paragraph near the end of the message from the Corsair.
  3. You are not doing anything wrong. Several factors must be considered. Beginning Officer AI level (when first starting ACM Campaign) and current AI level(s). Time - the only way to increase AI level (aside from playmod cheats) for crew is game time. I have not noticed either an increase or decrease in AI level gain by sending crewers to rest at any FF level. As to why the artifacts ye listed work when RE AI is not at level indicated in the manual, this was changed in the v2.09 patch (or v2.08) and is noted in the version control file. Bottom line: Ye not be doing anything wrong. Get the game time ran up several game-weeks or more and you'll be able to have all kinds of fun with those new, shinny BC3K toys TTFN ------------------ Commander Gallion GCV Graf Spee *1st Squadron, *Corsair Wing Stationed, *Starbase Cerberus "Run Silent, Run Deep" ICQ# 29486270, EST (GMT-5) =Wraith Fleet= Second in Command, Wraith Fleet Bushi of the Dragon Council [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 08-15-2000).]
  4. Kudos on running through the ACMs quote:...It would be really cool if you posted a state table here... I do believe that the SC is referring to STATS: aka statistics of your crew AI levels, medals awarded, experience points, etc. If you go to the Roster menu you will find all this information. TTFN and welcome to a totally new experience ------------------ Commander Gallion GCV Graf Spee *1st Squadron, *Corsair Wing Stationed, *Starbase Cerberus "Run Silent, Run Deep" ICQ# 29486270, EST (GMT-5) =Wraith Fleet= Second in Command, Wraith Fleet Bushi of the Dragon Council
  5. Ok Blades, Winamp I can agree with but Aint On-Line Instant Messenger? What a lamer I would suggest using something other than AOLIM but I can't gives ye one. To bad fer me. TTFN
  6. [rp] 2111, March 15, 3008 LV-103, Alpha Cygni The bridge crew of the GCV Graf Spee scurried to find the newest threat as their Commander occasionally would glance at the tactical display, not as he paced the deck of the bridge. Lt. Cmdr. Rico Cuervo waited for the backlash that he was sure would come. The last 24 hours of his new assignment were a living hell for the still wet behind the ears new Tactical Officer of the Graf Spee. Rico had heard horror stories regarding the infamous Corsair Wing Commander, but had not believed them. Unfortunately it seemed to Rico, some of those stories bore truth more often than naught. Rico held his breath for a second and spoke a small prayer to himself as he prepared to deliver the latest news to the pacing Commander of the GCV Graf Spee. Still no sign of the Shogun Commander, Rico reported, nothing out there but space dust and flotsam. What has spectrum analysis, began the Commander before he cut himself off. The Graf Spee had sustained major battle damage during the last 24 hour period; not all of which could be repaired. One system that was completely destroyed was the custom built SES module formally located in CB2. The Towed Array antennas were lost along with much of CB1 during the initial Gammulan onslaught in LV-103 just 24 hours ago. The loss of these two systems significantly degraded the Graf Spees sensor systems and equipment. Making the Battlecruiser almost blind as a bat. Only now were some of the sensor equipment coming back on-line after being reconfigure back to OEM specifications. The only trick that the battered Battlecruiser had left was her special paint or coating that significantly reduced sensor and radar detection. Even that was not 100 percent, it too was damaged to 40 percent effectiveness. Which meant that there was a 60 percent increase that the Graf Spee could/would be detected by any decent sensing system in operation within the known galaxy. The Commander contemplated all this and was about to clarify his question when all hell broke loss on the bridge Galcom vessel decloaking directly astern, range 4k, detect multiple weapons launch, missiles and energy weapons discharge  possible IOD and PTA laser fire; shield strength 30% and rising. Missile impact in 2 seconds, Rico bellowed from his battle station, as he and the rest of the bridge crew braced themselves for the barrage impact to come. The Commander stopped pacing the bridge and stared at the tactical display superimposed as the bridge crew braced themselves. He recognized the signature of the Galcom vessel and managed to locate his PDA display, without taking his attention from the bridge viewer. The Commander located and sent a preformatted message from his PDA to the attacking Galcom vessel, the GCV Shogun, then waited fot the reply to just sent message as the first missile made contact with the Graf Spee. [/rp] Ristar/Tringad - check ye e-mail before posting. Wraith/Spectre - nothing changed. ISS - Halt inplace for a few posts please. 7. Cmdr Steele, Peruse the entire thread and the previous threads relating to the Wraith Massacre. Wraith HQ (Starstation) is destroyed. THere are only three Galcom vessels in the Gam quad. All others are currently in Trenis/Antis. Continue operations in Gam quad is fatal to character activity. Research and adjust please. 10. Only in Los Angeles, CA would be more accurate. There be more sharks (aka lawyers)per capita there anywhere else on the planet. Which equats to mor suits - frivolous and legit. 11. [rp] 2043, March 15, 3008 Lydan, Krynon Mor-DÔÇÖr was livid. Once again the Wraith had eluded his grasp as the majority of Wraith Fleet escaped the VanguardÔÇÖs assault. Once again Mor-DÔÇÖr and the Gammulan forces were surprised by the eidolon forces that Wraith seemed to conjure up from no where. Several Gammulan warships were destroyed or disabled by several OTS-like detonations. Luck, and the timely entrance of the Kandorian military forces also played a major role in Wraith FleetÔÇÖs egress from Lydon. The Kandorians attacked Gammulan forces while they were recovering from WraithÔÇÖs latest tactical ploy. As the Gammulans engaged the new Kandorian threat, the remnants of Wraith Fleet escaped through the Krynon/Lydan ÔÇô Arenis/Khan jump point. Mor-DÔÇÖr watched the battle as the Kandorian forces were annihilated and the last Wraith warship made its escape through the Arenis/Khan jump point. The Gammulan offensive had begun anew and Mor-DÔÇÖr could taste the nectar of victory that was almost within his and the Gammulan EmpireÔÇÖs grasp. 2055, March 15, 3008 Antis, Trenis The terran behind the mirrored glasses watched and noted the arrival of the fleeing [Wraith warships, with concern and amusement. The terran noted each vessel, its type, IFF designation, and Wing assignment. He noted everything and missed nothing. He also noted that not a single warship that entered lair was unscathed. Each bore scares received in combat ÔÇô heavy combat at that. Two vessels garnered more of his attention the others; the GCV Usagi and GCV Swiftsure. The first was commanded by a mortal enemy of his organization, the other was an idle curiosity that had struck his fancy not to long ago. He also noticed the absence of a Galcom warship that did not arrive in his lair with the rest of the Wraith rabble ÔÇô the GCV Shogun. That was a ship that he really wanted information on and where abouts known. The terran behind the mirrored glasses contemplated his observations and noted two small but potentially large and dangerous discrepancies; the absence of any Delta Wing and Corsair Wing warships. The terran behind the mirrored glasses continued to ponder this anomaly as he watched the remnants of Wraith Fleet organize into some semblance of order. Further inner contemplation by the terran behind the mirrored glasses was interrupted his second in command, a terran known by some as the Raven. ÔÇ£Do we launch,ÔÇØ the Raven asked with a sadistically evil grin, ÔÇ£this is an excellent opportunity. One that we not have again.ÔÇØ ÔÇ£No,ÔÇØ was the terran behind the mirrored glasses response, ÔÇ£to launch and take advantage of this opportunity that fate and the Gammulans have handed us would cost us much.ÔÇØ The RavenÔÇÖs retort was cut-off by his own reflection in the terranÔÇÖs mirrored glasses. ÔÇ£It would reveal our latest secret. One that the Galcom cronnies are not aware of yet.ÔÇØ The terran known as Raven nodded his head in agreement. Their latest secret had only come on-line several days before the beginning of the latest Gammulan offensive. So far it has worked. Twenty-four Gammulan warships have been patrolling the Trenis system and have not discovered their latest secret endeavor. The irony of the situation intensified the sadistic grin he bore for those twenty-four Gammulan Warships were still somewhere in the Trenis system. He knew where they were but he had a very strong inkling that the Wraith rabble he was observing hadnÔÇÖt a clue. Which brought up something else that was near and dear to his sadistic thoughts. ÔÇ£What of Christopher Sly and the ÔǪ,ÔÇØ Raven began before being cut-off. ÔÇ£No need to worry about that yet Raven, the terran behind the mirrored glasses said without concern to the reference of a very sensitive topic, ÔÇ£Christopher Sly and his endeavor will proceed as plannedÔǪfor now.ÔÇØ Raven silently nodded and resumed observing the Wraith rabble along side the terran behind the mirrored glasses. Outwardly the terran behind the mirrored glasses seemed unconcerned at the reference made by Raven in regard to Christopher Sly. Inwardly he was fuming at the blatant breach in security. The terran behind the mirrored glasses knew that Raven had resources that even he was not aware of ÔÇô one reason why Raven was his second in command. He also knew that if RavenÔÇÖs proposal were to succeed, Christopher Sly may just have to die. A small price he was willing to pay for the bitter-sweat taste of victory and the all so sweat taste of something near and dear to his heart ÔÇô revenge! 2107, March 15, 3008 LV-103, Alpha Cygni The GCV Shogun made good use with the distraction of the Gammulan horde afforded by the remnants of Wraith Fleet and the Kandorian Military. Fleet Commander Ristar managed to maneuver the Shogun through the flotsam and carnage of the Lydan system and arrived in orbit around LV-103 without incident, something that shocked fleet Commander Ristar some but did not surprise him. What concerned Ristar the most were the other two space vessels in orbit around LV-103. One was the transport that he was aware of. The other was a Galactan Class MkII Battlecruiser. At least that was what the ShogunÔÇÖs sensor suite indicated to him. Ristar studied the Battlecruiser intently in his ÔÇÿvid display. There was something about that Gammulan Battlecruiser that seemed quasi-familiar to him. What is was he couldnÔÇÖt put his finger on or nail down completely. He had and knew the answer ÔÇô he just couldnÔÇÖt grasp it. Discretion was the better part of valor. Ristar ordered the Shogun to battle stations, activated the cloaking system, and set course to intercept and engage the Gammulan Battlecruiser. [/rp] Ristar ÔÇô do nothing yet. Tringad ÔÇô get that mission on LV-103 going. Wraith ÔÇô You are now in Trenis/Antis system. Make reference(s) to Spectre at your own risk To do so may result in termination of character activity. Spectre ÔÇô Work with me, the rabble will be out of your lair real soon TTFN ------------------ Commander Gallion GCV Graf Spee *1st Squadron, *Corsair Wing Stationed, *Starbase Cerberus "Run Silent, Run Deep" ICQ# 29486270, EST (GMT-5) =Wraith Fleet= Second in Command, Wraith Fleet Bushi of the Dragon Council [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 08-04-2000).]

  16. quote:...I bought a pickup truck from a dealer as is... This is the problem IMO. By purchasing vehicle as is buyers get a special sticker price. Usually lower than the norm for a dealer. Read the fine print on that contract or sales slip you signed. Most states have a lemon law as Akira mentioned but terms of this particular sale may just shield the dealer from them. Find a decent lawyer to find out where you stand legalise wise then prepare thyself for the headache to come - small claims court. Good luck and may the scales of justice tilt in ye favor TTFN ------------------ Commander Gallion GCV Graf Spee *1st Squadron, *Corsair Wing Stationed, *Starbase Cerberus "Run Silent, Run Deep" ICQ# 29486270, EST (GMT-5) =Wraith Fleet= Second in Command, Wraith Fleet Bushi of the Dragon Council
  17. Yep, the only way to setup a trade route is to manulually dock either your BC or Shuttle with space stations. Basic economics come into play too - but low sell high. Some space stations will pay top credit for things whilst others wont. Don't forget about mining operations too - only thing that minig will cost you is time. TTFN
  18. You think that is bad. I be sitting at work and ran the MSN Speedtest. Not good IMO for a network w/ a T-1 connection to the 'net - thruput was 14.4k Byte/s. Not much better than my 1ch or 2ch ISDN at home
  19. The only thing that is impeading human conquest of space is the social, economic, and policial barriers that keep the human race from uniting as a whole. IMO, once this is done, the human possibilities will be limitless. As to Murphy's Law - RTFM "...anything that can go wrong will..." That is one, there be a plethora more. Practical implementation of this law resulted in the unfortunate demise of one of your fruitless Topic threads, TTFN
  20. I have played BC3K on Laptop before (IBM Thinkpad) and had no problems. All I did was turn MIDI off at the Config Menu. Sound Fx came thru Ok - for an IBM Thinkpad that is. That is assuming that you are configuring sound setup via the dis command prompt and not using the Sound Setup Icon. TTFN
  21. I suggest that you RTFM Mr. Nemesis. This question and more are address within the contents of the manual. TTFN
  22. ISDN = 1 B Channel, 56kb(bits) for data and 8k for ISDN overhead; which = the 64kbs touted by the telcos. Search the web, you will find a plethora of info on ISDN. Remember this is DATA connection rate; 8 = 1 byte. 56000 bits/second = 7000 bytes per second thruput. 2ch ISDN running Multilink PPP is 2 B ch ISDN lines, when combined will = 128kbs DATA connection; with a 15000 byte thruput. Bottom line up front: 2ch ISDN (120k bit per sec connection) will NEVER result in 128000 byte per second thruput. Short of a direct circuit with UUnet; xDSL and cable modems are the only way to get the 128k byte/second data thruput. You should be connecting at either 128000 (more around 125000) or 64000 bits per second when you dial into the ISP. Data thru is effectig be various factors - how you have ISDN modem configured; how the ISP has your account/user profile configured; ISP congestion; Internet congestion. As to BCM and multiplay - hopefully my ISDN lines will work. If they do not then I am up the creek without a paddle 'cause there be NO xDSL or 2-way cable coming in the future in BF MD where I am located My ISDN lines work well enough with Klingon Academy and other M/P games (not FPS). Search the web and you will find many ISDN sites that may answer your questions. Gotta scoot TTFN [This message has been edited by Gallion (edited 07-22-2000).]
  23. Initial experimentation with the new voodoo doll drivers failed. Various V-ctrl settings also failed. Experiencing same hanging black screen of death 2d/3d v-sync. Taking a break from this for a few hours. This has got to be something simple that I am missing. TTFN

  25. The on-board video chipset on your Intel 810 Motherboard cannot support BC3K. IOW you are experiencing lack of video memory. I suggest investing in a decent 2d/3d PCI video card (voodoo3 series). Then again I may be incorrect in my analysis. TTFN
